Safe, effective, and non-invasive.

LENS is one of the fastest and simplest strategies to influence the natural development of brain cells and neuropathways.

What is LENS?

LENS is a biofeedback-style neurofeedback system.

Say that three times fast! Considered a non-traditional form of neurofeedback, LENS(standing for Low Energy Neurofeedback System), utilizes EEG technology to record and track brainwave patterns while mirroring those frequency waves applied as neurofeedback. As the brain receives mirrored frequency impulses, it relaxes.  As it relaxes, neuronal flexibility is achieved.

Much like a computer, our bodies operate through a series of coded responses via signals from the nervous system. From jumping to playing to dancing to singing- everything we do is governed by our nervous systems. Sometimes, these codes get corrupted and the signals we start receiving aren’t as helpful as they could be. When this happens it can lead our lives to become stressful, small, and limited. LENS disrupts these patterns, and helps the brain and body to release these corrupted codes- offering the nervous system an opportunity to reboot and reprogram itself.

Regulation

When the brain isn’t stuck processing old experiences in the present moment, there’s more energy available to feel safe in the present.  When we feel safe we can connect with ourselves and others with ease.  LENS helps the nervous system unlearn habitual stress responses and allows new opportunities to feel more alive.

How does LENS work?

Sessions are quick, simple, and take no effort on the part of the client. As the brain learns to let go and address any maladaptive frequency patterns, often people experience a profound sense of presence, relaxation, and expanded cognition.

LENS allows the brain and body to disentrain from stuck wave patterns, freeing up more energy for other more productive processes.

LENS is a gentle nervous system stimulation device.

FDA approved and non-invasive, LENS uses very light electromagnetic impulses of low radio frequency to influence the nervous system. It can be used on the head to influence brainwaves or on the body to affect the peripheral nervous system.

LENS for the brain uses one to four electrodes placed on the scalp and two electrodes on the earlobes.  Using customized protocols specially fit to the client’s unique system, LENS helps affect brainwave activity to improve nervous system function by reflecting faint frequency waves through the sensors back into a clients brain. Different brainwaves are associated with different behaviors, moods, and functions of the human brain. LENS offers feedback to the nervous system which allows it to witness it’s own maladaptive wave patterns, and to disentrain from them-if ready.

LENS for the body uses the same process, applied to different locations of the body. This offers the peripheral nervous system as opportunity to clear itself similarly to the brain. This often helps people to feel deeply grounded and clears the feedback loops that live in the body- better supporting flexibility throughout the entire nervous system.

The use of LENS harnesses neuroplasticity, and the offers the brain and nervous system a chance to flex, expand, adapt, change, and grow. Designed to be flexible, strength of application and protocol can be as strong or mild as is needed to affect change- meaning the process is as customizable and unique as we are.

Peace & Clarity

When we feel safe in our bodies, everything we do becomes easier.  We can enjoy ourselves, our choices, and our experiences.  When the brain is free to operate with more energy, understanding who we are and what we want becomes natural.  From this place we are grounded in ourselves and we can see what we want and take the necessary steps forward to make that a reality.

Who is LENS for?

LENS is a safe and effective treatment for children, adolescents, and adults. Simple and quick to apply, it can be very useful when treating children and individuals who have trouble sitting still.

Helpful for symptomatic issues or simply as a resource for optimizing cognitive function, LENS is a dynamic tool for brain health.

Central Nervous Symptom dysfunction

This includes symptoms of anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, Seizures and subclinical seizure activity, migraines, disruptive emotion dysregulation and behavior disorders, Autistic spectrum, pervasive developmental delay, Cerebral palsy, concussive injuries, PTSD, Acquired Brain Injury, and Birth Trauma.

LENS works very well with symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury, no matter how long ago the incident occurred.

Many children have sleep problems that can be helped such as bedwetting, sleep walking, sleep talking, teeth grinding, nightmares, and night terrors. Helpful with many of the symptoms of adolescence including drug abuse, unhelpful cravings, suicidal behavior, anxiety and depression; LENS can also help maintain healthy brain function as people age. Some people turn to LENS to help support optimal cognitive function during times of stress or to optimize overall performance.

Energy & Focus

It takes energy for the brain to maintain brainwave suppression.  When suppression is lifted with the help of LENS, suddenly the whole system has more energy to think clearly, regulate, and live life more awake.   With increased mental energy comes motivation and better focus…yes!

Session details

Initial intake appointment includes nervous system assessment and first initial LENS application. (1 hour)

Follow-up appointments include LENS application and time for processing symptom changes. (Up to 30 minutes)

Follow-up appointments are recomended once to twice a week in the beginning, and then can be spaced bi-weekly and trice-weekly until results are achieved.

A typical session with the LENS lasts 3-10 minutes, the remaining time is spent discussing observations either prior to administering LENS or after the brief treatment. The brain is very responsive to subtle shifts in frequency, and LENS is a nervous system stimulation device, so often times for best results- less is more.

Clients tend to need a series of sessions for the brain to “hold on” to the changes. The brain is a flexible organ, and with LENS we are gently nudging the neuronal activity; with time and adequate applications, the brain adjusts to new expanded states of ‘normal’ and eventually integrate the changes and are all done.

The average recommended number of sessions is around 10 with more complicated issues requiring up to 20 or more. Most people will see shifts in symptoms within the first 4 sessions, and many experience lasting results. Breaks can be taken and effects will not be lost. Nothing a person does or doesn’t do will hinder the progress or changes made during the LENS application.

The best part about LENS is that it simply offers the brain an opportunity to shift negative feedback signals and suboptimal brain activity.

Meaning, all changes are actually done by the brain!

Boundaries

When we feel safe and secure, we can trust what we want and don’t want- and stand up for what we value.  We can state what’s not ok with us and be ok with it.  Making healthy choices often starts with setting better boundaries.

And with those, our lives become our own.

Safety

LENS works well in conjunction with psychotherapy or other healing modalities.

It is recommended as a complimentary therapy to support and make other therapies more effective.

Many psychologists and therapeutic professionals suggest LENS as a foundational therapy, before starting anything else.

People often report feeling comfortable, relaxed, and calm after a LENS session.

In over one million sessions, no significant side effects of LENS have been reported. The brain responds to LENS by reorganizing itself, so there may be a new awareness of pre-existing symptoms, such as feeling wired, tired, or light-headed. These sensations are usually short-term and tend to correct themselves quickly. As the brain changes with the help of LENS, many decrease use of medications, feel less interested in recreational drugs/alcohol, and are able to utilize more healthy coping strategies.

Sometimes, strong emotional experiences can occur as suppression is released. It is much like gently nudging a lid off a box- if the suppression has been present for many years, there may be a good amount of compressed emotional energy ready to release. It can be very helpful to have a support system and strategies in place as we begin the process. Over time, LENS often makes processing and coping with these feelings easier and more accessible in healthy and helpful ways.

I have experience.
